Underpass will Be Provided in Kota Tua

An Underpass road will be built by City Government to connect Jalan Jembatan Batu with Jalan Pengeran Jayakarta, which located behind Beos Station in Tamansari, West Jakarta.

After Jalan Kemukus is closed next year, it will be an alternative road for vehicle at Kota Tua

The underpass under Jalan Kunir Railroad is expected to be an alternative road after the main road of Kota Tua will be closed in upcoming year. Besides, the traffic due to crossing train will certainly decrease.

"After Jalan Kemukus is closed next year, it will be an alternative road for vehicle at Kota Tua," said Zubaidi, Road Management Body of Jakarta Public Works Head Section, Friday (11/21).

Besides expected to reduce traffic accident of careless driving in crossing railroad, the underpass also can reduce the traffic jam when the train pass the railroad.

Zubaidi added, the underpass construction plan is still discussed at Jakarta PU dept. "We will study and measure the frequency of crossing vehicle and the wide of underpass project," he added.

As known, Jakarta Provincial plans to close Jalan Kemukus in order to revitalize Kota Tua area in upcoming 2015. The main road must sterilize from vehicle towards Fatahillah park and Beos Station.
